sesame-crusted chicken wings


1/4 cup lite soy sauce
3/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons sesame oil
1 (2 inch) piece peeled ginger root, grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons orange zest
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup asian sweet chili sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
3 3/4 lbs. chicken wings
1/4 cup sesame seeds


  1. for the marinade, combine soy sauce, honey, oil, ginger, garlic, orange zest, orange juice, chili sauce and (if desired) hot sauce.
  2. place chicken in a large resealable plastic bag; add marinade.
  3. seal bag; turn to coat.
  4. refrigerate up to 8 hours.
  5. preheat oven to 450°f.
  6. remove wings from marinade; discard marinade.
  7. place wings in a single layer on a foil-lined 12x18-inch baking pan.
  8. bake 15 minutes; turn.
  9. sprinkle seeds on wings.
  10. bake 15 minutes more or until wings are browned and cooked through (165°f).
  11. serve warm.
