mini game time cheesesteaks


2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups thinly sliced onion
1/2 each red bell pepper and green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 lb. sirloin steak, frozen for about an hour for easy cutting
1/4 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper, to taste
4 oz. sliced american or provolone cheese
8 butter dinner rolls


  1. heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. sauté onions until softened and starting to brown, about 6 min.
  3. add peppers and mushrooms and cook until vegetable mixture is tender, about another 6–8 minutes more.
  4. transfer mixture to a bowl.
  5. meanwhile, slice steak very thinly and season with salt and pepper.
  6. heat remaining oil in skillet and cook steak slices until browned and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes.
  7. place sliced cheese on top of meat mixture and cover to melt cheese.
  8. top each dinner roll with meat and some of the vegetable mixture.
  9. serve while warm.
