grecian grilled steak


2 (8 oz.) sirloin steaks
3 lemons
1/4 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar


  1. coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. preheat grill to medium-high (350°f-400°f).
  3. season steaks with salt and pepper to taste. grill steaks, covered, 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare (145°f) or to desired doneness.
  4. meanwhile, cut 2 of the lemons in half. grill lemons, cut side down, 2-3 minutes.
  5. for the sauce, juice remaining lemon into a small bowl. add oregano, oil, garlic and vinegar; whisk to combine.
  6. transfer steak to a cutting board; let stand 5 minutes.
  7. thinly slice steak against the grain, and place on a platter.
  8. spoon sauce on top, and serve with grilled lemons.
