4 large granny smith apples
2 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon topping:
1/2 cup crushed gingersnap cookies
1/2 cup dry rolled oats (old fashioned oatmeal)
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
preheat oven to 350°f.
butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
for filling: peel and core apples and pears, thinly slice.
mix apple and pear slices in a large mixing bowl with berries.
gently toss fruit mixture with sugar, flour, ginger, and cinnamon.
place mixture into prepared baking dish.
for topping: combine all ingredients in a small bowl until crumbly.
spread topping evenly over filling and bake until fruit is soft and bubbly and topping is browned, about 30 minutes.
serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
