fried bananas with honey-nut sauce


2 bananas*, peeled
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup walnuts
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
*very ripe plantains may also be used


  1. cut bananas in half lengthwise or sliced diagonally.
  2. heat butter in skillet over medium heat, add bananas and cook until lightly browned on both sides.
  3. combine honey, nuts and cinnamon and pour over bananas.
  4. cook until sauce is warmed, turning bananas carefully to coat with sauce.
  5. serve warm.
