family favorite chili


2 lb. 80% lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes with juice
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese for garnish


  1. in a skillet, brown the beef and drain.
  2. in a large sauce pot, add all ingredients to the beef and simmer uncovered until slightly thickened.
  3. garnish with cheese, sour cream, diced jalapenos, etc.
