broccoli with onions and cumin


1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 lb. broccoli, trimmed into small spears


  1. in a skillet, heat the oil.
  2. cook the onion and garlic over medium heat for 4 minutes.
  3. add remaining ingredients except broccoli and cook for 1 minute longer; remove from heat.
  4. in a large skillet, boil the broccoli about 4 minutes until crispy and bright.
  5. toss broccoli with onion mixture and serve immediately.
